Burberry and Marcus Rashford’s new fashion film entitled “‘It’s about that fearless spirit and imagination when pushing boundaries.’ #RiccardoTisci”, will make you want to get off your feet and dance. I should add that I would love to see a VFX breakdown of this ad.
This amazing commercial in every way, where dancers are breaking ice while breakdancing under ice rain, was shot on Petticoat lane, the place you used to go to buy a knock-off Burberry garms. The “wow” video is coming at the key moment as the pandemic is putting the luxury-goods industry through one of its biggest crises yet, leading to an 88% decline in Burberry’s first-half earnings per share. Shares in Burberry have recovered durimg the summer to a 24.6% drop so far this year and ten percent of its stores are currently closed. Global travel restrictions stopped tourists, including Asian consumers, from visiting fashion hot spots such as London and Paris.
Burberry recently announced that it aims to upgrade its leather-goods pricing to the levels enjoyed by rivals Prada and Gucci hoping there are still enough consumers who would be willing to pay more for its trenchcoats and purses, even amid the pandemic.
